Sehwag scored 175 vs Bangladesh.
The next important innings he played in the World Cup was of 73(66). He made 73 runs against South Africa at Nagpur. He and Sachin together put up a partnership of 142 for the first wicket. However, India lost the match, Sehwag's contribution was an important one.
Sehwag scored a quick 38 off 25 against Pakistan in the semi-final.
In the final, India needed 275 runs to win. Sehwag got out for an unusual duck of the second ball. After that, Sachin too got out on 18. Then the determined Gautam Gambhir took all the responsibilities on his shoulders. And he scored a very important 97. After that, Dhoni and Yuvraj led India to a win with Dhoni finishing with a last ball six to win the World Cup. In Sachin's autobiography "Playing it My Way", Sachin has written that he was getting very nervous after he got out. And he told Sehwag also not to see the match either on TV or from the pavilion.
But, at last India won the World Cup after 28 years. It was really, the Ultimate Glory for all the Indians.
